Planet Fitness in Eastern Washington,
Ultro Group, LLC presented three donations to three very different, yet important
organizations in their new community of
Spokane Valley during the ribbon-cutting
ceremony June 10.
As part of their public outreach effort,
PF invited their local Susan G. Komen
Foundation chapter and the Inland Northwest Blood Center Foundation to the
ceremony to gift a $1,000 check to each.
Becky Duffey, executive director of
the local Komen chapter and Loreen
McFaul, executive director of the Blood
Center Foundation, joined the crowd of
more than 50 people to personally accept
the donations made to their respective
organizations. They then each addressed
the attendees to extend their thanks and
describe how support provided by companies like Planet Fitness positively impact
the community.

three hours away], there was no existing

to show the community our support and
our desire to get involved. Supporting
great causes like Susan G. Komen and
the local Blood Center Foundation and
integrating that with the ribbon cutting
was a great experience for our team. Our
Spokane Valley team did an awesome job
rolling out the event. We received several
letters and emails from local representatives thanking PF for not only the financial
support, but also simply for bringing PF to
the region,”said Ultro Group franchisee
Eric Sousa.
Following the presentation, a few
unannounced surprises were still in store
for the rest of the ceremony’s attendees.
“To top off the event, we also surprised the
Chamber at the end with an additional
$500 contribution. The whole outcome
was positive beyond anything we could
have anticipated. The feedback along with
the news articles published locally and
online after the event demonstrated that
our goal of connecting with the community had been achieved. This is definitely
something we will plan to continue to
do at future locations as well,” added
Jesse Lambert, Ultro Group’s operations
director.
As an additional treat, those who
attended had the opportunity to win
a 42” TV, an iPad and three 12-month
memberships during the prize raffle. The
club concluded its ceremony by
handing out bags filled with
PF promo products and
offered club tours to all in
attendance. G
