HURyCAN return to GDIF after their performance in 2015, in which a moment of theatrical shock transformed into a thrilling tour de force performance. This new production explores life as an organism. Prepare to be swept up in the magical, beautiful, ugly and vibrantly alive stories of the human body. Hip Hop theatre meets the beautiful game in this high energy dance piece from Far From The Norm. Fast-paced footwork and physical floor work explore socio-political issues and the connections between multi-cultural Britain and football. You’ll find yourself looking at the nation’s beloved game from a new perspective. Clear some head space for the weekend and watch as thoughts get tangled and blue sky thinking takes on a whole new meaning. Runs 15 mins Runs 20 mins Two nomads meet and form an immediate bond. Their bodies sync in recognition as they react and respond to their new found situation. HumanHood aims to close the gap between audience and performer, so get ready to be totally immersed in this sinuous and dynamic performance. The red telephone box is a British icon but with this performance from Corey Baker Dance you’ll see it in a whole new light. Put everything else on hold and watch as this everyday object is transformed into a thrilling dance and acrobatic experience. Come early or stay after the performance and take a closer look inside. 2 Commissioning credits page 29 6 Choreographed by Sharon Watson, Artistic Director of Phoenix Dance Theatre, this atmospheric, adrenaline fuelled performance explores ideas of identity and territorial impulses as dancers soar and swoop through the air slicing open the space between heaven and hell and propelling aerial dance into uncharted territory.
