“How about 1942?” asked Kevin Wagner. Kevin was a scientist at
Milestone Labs. He had just created a time machine along with his
younger brother, Mike, and they were both arguing which time period
to go to in it.
“No. Too recent. I say we should go back
to 0979.” said Mike.
“Are you crazy?! If our battery dies back
then, we’ll be stuck in the 10th century for
the rest of our lives!” yelled Kevin
exasperatedly.
Both of them were getting very angry. They kept yelling at each other
for some time. Then both their faces grew red. Finally, Mike snapped!
He shoved Kevin as hard as he could. Kevin lost his balance and
grabbed Mike to stay upright. Unfortunately, Mike was caught off
guard. He stumbled, staggered both ways and at last fell into the time
machine, taking Kevin with him.
As they did so, Kevin’s elbow hit the control panel. Numbers began to
whirr on the display. The whole machine started to shake violently. It
then started to spin round and round; suddenly, a blinding flash
engulfed them!
The very next thing both of them knew, both of them were lying in a
small grassy clearing. Their time machine was lifelessly sitting next to
them.
“Where are we?” Mike asked shakily.
“Make that ‘When are we?’. I think we just travelled through time!”
replied Kevin.
