Rosanne Furniss
Having tried smallbore a few times at school, Rosanne really started shooting in 2005 whilst
at Cambridge University, with the intention of taking up a sport where her lack of ability
to throw, run or catch would not hold her back. It worked, and she went on to captain the
Cambridge University Small Bore Club, and was twice Match Rifle Captain for the fullbore
club, winning every Varsity match over her 4 years in the club.
Shooting highlights include representing England twice in the Elcho and once as reserve,
becoming the first lady to shoot the Elcho for England since it began. She scored 100.13 at
1200 yards whilst shooting against Australia in Cambridge in 2012, and hopes this luck will
follow her to Tasmania, where this will be Rosanne’s first shooting tour.
Outside shooting, Rosanne works on improving operational performance in the NHS and
defence \
