Le Musée d ’ Art moderne organise une rétrospective de l ’ œuvre de Bernard Buffet , considéré comme l ’ un des peintres français les plus célèbres du XXème siècle , mais également l ’ un des plus controversés . À travers une sélection d ’ une centaine de peintures , l ’ exposition offre une relecture d ’ une œuvre très appréciée du public mais boudée par le milieu artistique . Ainsi , à côté des autoportraits et natures mortes , les différents sujets exploités par Bernard Buffet au cours de ses expositions annuelles à la Galerie Garnier seront présentés : cycles religieux ( La Passion du Christ ), littéraires ( L ’ Enfer de Dante , Vingt mille lieues sous les mers ) ou allégoriques ( Les Oiseaux , Les Folles ). L ’ accent sera mis sur la réflexion constante de Bernard Buffet sur la peinture d ’ histoire ( Horreur de la Guerre ) et sur l ’ histoire de la peinture ( Le Sommeil d ’ après Courbet ), jusqu ’ à La Mort , spectaculaire dernière série se référant aux memento mori médiévaux . Bernard Buffet , retrospective
The Museum of Modern Art will present a retrospective of the work of Bernard Buffet , regarded as one of the most famous French painter of the 20th century , but also as one of the most controversial . Through a selection of about a hundred paintings , the exhibition offers a new reading of a very popular work , yet snubbed by the artistic community . Therefore , next to self-portraits and still lifes , the various subjects exploited by Bernard Buffet throughout his annual exhibitions at the Garnier Gallery will be presented : religious cycles ( The Passion of the Christ ), literary cycles ( Dante ’ s Inferno , Twenty thousand leagues under the sea ) or allegorical cycles ( The Birds , Les Folles ). The emphasis will be on Bernard Buffet ’ s constant reflection about history painting ( Horror of War ) and about the history of painting ( Sleep inspired by Courbet ), up to Death , spectacular last series that refers to medieval times ’ memento mori . يقترح علينا متحف الفن الحديث لمدينة باريس إعادة اكتشاف أعمال الفنان برنار بوفيه الذي يعد واحدا من أهم وأبرز الفنانين والأكثر إثارة للجدل في القرن العشرين وإعادة قراءة أعماله التي نالت إعجاب الجماهير وتجاهلتها الأوساط الفنية من خلال معرض يقدم باقة مختارة تتألف من 100 لوحة

.) الأحداث التاريخية ( ويلات الحرب ) وتاريخ فن الرسم ( النوم حسب كوربيه أما آخر سلسلة من أعماله فهي تحمل عنوان الموت في إشارة إلى العبارة اللاتينية " ميمنتو موري " التي تعني " تذكر أنك ستموت " التي يرجع تاريخها
