The cabin crew, a dream
profession where
responsibility, charm
and courtesy are needed
O
n an airplane, stewardesses and stewards are the
flight attendants, in other words the cabin crew. The
profession of flight attendant includes 2 roles of paramount
importance :
- A safety, security and first aid mission that consists in ensuring
a smooth flight ; the cabin crew must enforce the rules and
procedures, it is also responsible for the safety equipment and
knows how to use it. The flight attendant is also the person who performs first aid to
the passengers in case of need.
- A commercial mission to welcome and support passengers by offering services
and by ensuring their comfort during the flight. The cabin crew works with a very
diversified and multicultural clientele and its mission is also to build loyalty. The cabin
crew is the mirror of every aircraft company.
This dream profession is a demanding job that requires both significant physical
resistance and mental stamina, especially on medium and long-haul flights. The
cabin crew has to deal with irregular work schedules, jet lag, changes in climate, a
not very stable private life, even without a routine... while keeping calm and smiling
no matter what !
