Emel Mathlouthi
Tunisian singer, author and composer,
Emel Mathlouthi made her voice resonate beyond the
borders of Tunisia. She who had arrived in the final
price RMC Middle East since 2006 has not stopped
seducing audiences worldwide, bewitched by his
singular universe, combining psychedelic rock, Arabic
music and electro.
Committed artist, she made her first album
entitled "Kelmti Horra" (My Word is Free), one year after
the Tunisian revolution. Shortly after and in honor of
Chokri Belaid, a political opponent assassinated, she
sings "Ma Katlou Had" (No one killed).
But her real stunt, Emel Mathlouthi owes it to her
performance at the ceremony of the Nobel Prizes who
view the Quartet of the Tunisian National Dialogue
rewarded with a Nobel Peace Prize in 2015. Her
interpretation of the song "Kelmti Horra" is acclaimed
by audiences and critics, and raises her in the very
closed circle of the divas of the Arab world.
1) What Does Travel Mean To You?
What do you do the most while traveling?
To me travel is like a second chance, there is a choice you can restart with
new energies, draw new horizons ... open your heart to the unknown and
recharge your curiosity, eyes and soul.
Walking, to me it is the best way to discover everything no matter where
you go, be permanently connected to the landscapes, colors, and talking to
people… That is what travel is about, receive and share…
2) What is an exotic trip?
All trips are exotic because of the change of visual and sound scenery
every time.
3) What do you take in your suitcase?
My headphones to listen to music whenever I have the opportunity, my
jewelry accessories to properly acclimate to any environment, poetry, a nail
file and a lipstick!
The land of your dream?
I have plenty!! But I would say Iran! I had the chance to visit a tiny part and
as hard as it is to prefer one tr ip to another, I think that will remain etched in
my memory for a long time by the richness of its landscape , its civilization
and extreme generosity of its inhabitants ! It is also a very safe country for
a woman traveling alone contrary to what one might think.

Return to sing in Tunisia, in ALL Tunisia and very soon! I
Your favorite museum?
The Bronx Museum, a beautiful space very open, generous and rich
exhibits, a tiny gift store, and it is open access.
