PUBLISHER’S
note
“Style is knowing who you are,
what you want to say, and not
giving a damn.” - Orson Welles
In this issue, we’re covering all things style, while still
keeping the heart of what we do - telling stories about
women who are determined to live their best lives despite many obstacles. I am especially proud of the
women in our special Miracles and Hope section who
are fighting medical obstacles and finding their
inner strength. Teri Griege, Raylene Hollrah and
Jamie Parker, you inspire me.
I am truly excited about our Fall Style issue.
It has been a stylish kind of year for St.
Louis. Let’s face it, it is not often that a
world-class Alexander McQueen exhibit
comes to town. St. Louis is making great
strides toward creating a solid fashion industry. Like any other industry, it takes
multiple events, thriving retail, engaged
business and community leaders, and an
open-minded consumer to make it happen.
Something to think about ladies - if you look
good, you feel good, or you at least feel better than
you would if you didn’t like your outer appearance.
Sometimes, it means trying new things. My hair stylist Ashjia Wraggs talked me into my latest look. I
fought her along the way, but I trusted her and love
my new long “do.” Any kind of change is not easy. I
hope the style tips and all the style news in this issue
helps you in your journey to a more fabulous you..
