T here’s been a change in the landscape at Laumeier Sculpture Park: A larger-than-life, 12-foot-tall sculpture, “Deer,” is now part of the park’s permanent collection. The steel, reinforced-fiberglass likeness of a white-tailed doe is by artist Tony Tasset, whose 2007 sculpture, “Eye,” is already a Laumeier fixture. The installation, now on view in the Way Field, is in celebration of the park’s 40th anniversary. The search continues for Shakespeare Festival St. Louis' next artistic director, following Rick Dildine's departure.
