Monochromatic!
ccording to L’Oréal Paris celebrity makeup artist Sir
John, monochromatic ruled the runways, and is
now one of this year’s hottest makeup trends.
Monochromatic makeup, as the name implies, is the
technique of utilizing similar shades on the eyes, face,
cheeks and lips to create a full look. He considers this high-fashion look
an ode to the ‘90s - with a modern twist.
“I love to create a variety of textures within a look, so I opt for matte
shadows on the eyes, nude matte lips and bronzed, glowing skin to
create contrast,” Sir John said. He shares his expert tips for mastering
the monochromatic nude look so that everyone can easily do it at home.
Extremely wearable and versatile, this makeup look can go anywhere -
day or night.
FACE: For the face, do not forget the importance of skincare products
to prep the skin for makeup application. To get a glowing, beachy skin
look, Sir John suggests using L’Oréal Paris Hydra-Genius Moisturizer all
over, then applying L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Rosy Tone Moisturizer on
the cheeks to bring a little flush to the skin.
Next, use Infallible Pro Glow Concealer along with Infallible Pro
Glow Foundation to give skin a dewy look that will last all day. To
finish off the face, apply True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator on
cheekbones, Cupid’s bow, and the top of, but not the tip of, the nose.
For an added glow, apply the illuminator to collarbones, arms and the
front of legs for a summer-approved, all-over glow.
EYES: Sir John recommends using L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Mono
Matte eyeshadows in nude colors on the eyes. These shadows have
great texture with a soft powder formula, allowing for an easy and
blendable application. From golden to reddish-hued nudes, the shade
range allows for the creation of multiple looks that look great on all skin
tones. To bring more attention to the eyes, finish with a volumizing and
lengthening mascara such as L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise
Washable Mascara.
LIPS: Lacquer up lips and get a velvety matte look with Infallible Lip
