PALM SPRINGS CONTEMPORARIES
P
alm Springs has been a popular getaway for the rich and
famous for decades. In the desert, the stars could forget
the stressful demands of Hollywood, socialize with their
peers, and play a leisurely round of golf. Palm Springs is
also known for its vast collection of mid-century modern
homes, attracting an influx of new buyers from Los Angeles to San
Francisco. A collection of 14 new homes for developer LINEA, based on
the minimalist theme of Palm Springs’ best designs, is coming to market
in the next two years. Three have already been completed and are ready
for buyers - each of similar size and all with guest houses.
The all-white homes follow the mid-century home pattern, sleek and

contemporary, incorporating minimal lines and walls of glass, and using
the desert landscape to maximize the clean looks. Walls and floors are all
pure white, allowing for artwork to pop along with the furnishings. The
properties’ open floor plan transcends with year-round outdoor living:
swaths of emerald green grass, an outdoor kitchen under a pergola with
an adjustable slatted ceiling, and adjacent one-bedroom guest house
with living room and a swimming pool and spa. An example of one of
the project’s first homes for sale measures 4,790 square feet with four
bedrooms and five baths, and is priced at $2.75 million. The listing agent
is Richard Nolan of The Agency in Palm Springs, California.
