GAZELLE MAGAZINE JUNE 2018 | Page 12

PUBLISHER'S NOTE A Gazelle Update W e are at the six-month mark for 2018, and we have a lot going on at Gazelle Media. The year began with the general feeling that we needed to make some changes to continue evolving as global media evolves. Because I am a perpetual risk-taker, it was a no-brainer when Optimal Entertainment owner Tim Breitbach, executive producer of “Welcome to Sweetie Pies” and “Resale Royalty,” approached me with a partnership proposal to fill a digital and video void, which we would call Gazelle Life TV. Since that meeting, we have produced “From #MeToo to #WeToo: St. Louis Women Share Stories from the Heart,” and Webster University held a screening for a longer version of this compelling film featuring women from the St. Louis area. We've also headlined some major speaking engagements and introduced The Melting Pot, a series on immigrant stories that impact our community, as well as begun work on several other programs launching in the coming months. Despite the growth and changes we are experiencing, our mission stays the same across Gazelle’s media entities: to produce compelling content that resonates with women. We will do so with sass and sophistication, keeping in mind the fact that our core demographic of aspirational, educated St. Louis women still want to feel beautiful inside and out. Our fashion and beauty pages will continue to grow stronger, focusing on a message of diversity, embracing the many different faces of racial and cultural beauty that make St. Louis a great place to live. What we are doing is revolutionary from a regional media perspective. We are sharing a bigger picture, integrating the importance of relationships, connections and the power of being an influencer. Gazelle Media is a lifestyle brand. We continue to move forward with strong partnerships and financial support, mostly from transplants who have built a name for themselves in the community and are now proud to call St. Louis home. And we invite those who have supported more traditional local publications over the years to take a leap with us and embrace this new era. As I often say, social media is the great connector. Gone are the days when aspiring people depended solely on an introduction from that reputable lady around town. With a click of a button, you can usually find out who someone is and what they love and believe in by seeing what they post or talk about on social media. What that means is that if you are not on board with change, you are being left behind. Come aboard and be a part of a modern St. Louis that is emerging in this digital world! You are most welcome.
