PUBLISHER'S NOTE About Those Resolutions… A very Happy New Year from our Gazelle STL family to yours. What a nice break it is to walk away from the hustle and bustle of work deadlines to focus on family for a couple of weeks. Like many of you, I am filled with enthusiasm to make this year the year that everything comes together. It starts off like this every January, and even though I do not accomplish everything I set out to do, I still get many things done. After all, as Les Brown said, “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you will land among the stars.” You see, setting goals gives us hope that we can change the things we do not like, or become even better and more passionate about the things we do like. One of my goals this year is to get physically fit. I say that every year, but this time, I mean it. Sound familiar? Well this time, I am doing something about it instead of just talking about it. As I write this note, I have already lost 5 pounds. The fact of the matter is that I hate working out. For years, I depended on diets to stay lean, but as I get older, my body just isn’t working with me in that regard. It used to be that I worked hard to make money. As I’ve gotten older and discovered my passion as publisher of Gazelle, my goal has changed, at least for now. My new goal is to work hard for my body. Nothing comes easy anymore, but I am determined that this is the year that I take control and remind this body who’s in charge. So I am working out four or five times a week, and I am counting calories. I don’t know how long my newfound enthusiasm will last, but I know that in the end, I will be in a much better place - physically and mentally - than I am today. I am shooting for the stars. I encourage you to take on one of your biggest challenges this year and change the power it has over you. Make a goal to keep at least one resolution.
