GAZELLE MAGAZINE AUGUST 2017 | Page 14

PUBLISHER'S NOTE It is OK to Evolve A s we enter the fall season, I marvel at the growth we have experienced at Gazelle STL since our inception in 2014. If you read the very first issue, you will agree that we have come a long way since then. These past few years, in our quest to realize our vision, Gazelle STL has had to make some drastic changes. When we created the magazine, we were a group of wide-eyed creative people, impassioned about bringing something new and fresh to St. Louis. Looking back, we realize we took a risk because we were coming into a community that did not have a magazine dedicated to fashion as its core focus. But we chugged along - toiling, molding, really driving home the message that we were going to succeed. During that time, we have seen others in the community jump on board and embrace fashion as mainstream for the St. Louis market. We moved circulation from restaurants, bars and small distribution points, to the big grocery stores; we revamped our website; we created an app; we retained additional seasoned team members - we evolved. In the spring, we were approached by a production company that delivers docuseries-type programming to networks. The producers were interested in creating an “entertainment project” based on Gazelle STL and its team members. Those of you who came to our anniversary party in June got to see the cameras rolling. You will find out more about that in the coming months. I say all this to show that we are not the same. We are bigger, we are better, we are focused on the future, and most important, we are grateful for your support. Thank you for taking this ever-evolving journey with us. Sincerely, Cillah Hall Founder and Publisher [email protected] 12 GAZELLE STL
