esigner Alexia María Esquer’s timeless, modern silhouettes have been
donned by celebrities like Gwen Stefani, America Ferrera and Julianne
Hough. The latest collection in her namesake brand, Alexia Maria, is
elegantly dramatic with rich fabrics and big bows.
Esquer’s passion for fashion and design began in childhood in Mexico,
where her sense of style was inspired by the 1950s, a decade which has continued to
influence her design aesthetic. After graduating from college in her native country, Esquer
moved to New York to continue her studies in fashion styling at The Fashion Institute of
Technology, and later launched her eponymous collection in the spring of 2014.
This fall, the brand will open a boutique in New York’s Upper East Side neighborhood.
