RHONDA’S FAVORITE THINGS
By RHONDA SHRUM
With the holiday season upon us, many patients ask me what my favorite products are. Whether
they’d like to give someone special a great skin care product, or indulge for themselves (hey,
you have to look good for those holiday parties!) it’s the time of the year when certain products
and services fly off the shelf.
Here are the products that I can’t live without:

Latisse by Allergan $179 for 5 ml.
Do you ever wonder how women on TV and magazines
get those long, gorgeous lashes? It’s rarely the mascara
- more often it’s Latisse, a prescription treatment that
helps your lashes grow longer, fuller and darker. It’s only
available from a doctor or medical spa, so be wary of
purchasing from an untrustworthy seller. In six to eight
weeks, everyone you know will suddenly be pointing out
your lashes, and once your lashes are long and full, any
mascara will do.
TNS Essential Serum by SkinMedica $260
The “workhorse” of my skincare routine, this is the one
thing I will put on no matter how tired and crabby I am.
Dual chambers made up of growth factors, peptides,
antioxidants, collagen and proteins combine to make this
an all-in-one superstar. You could use this every day with
a moisturizer and sunscreen and be set. While its price
may seem steep, remember that it’s actually multiple
products in one.
Sunforgettable Mineral Sunscreen Brush SPF
50 by ColoreScience $64
Let’s face it, we all sometimes forget sunscreen, not to
mention that it’s usually messy, stinky and sticky. None
of that is an issue with Sunforgettable. As a powder
formula that is water resistant for 80 minutes, it comes
in its own retractable brush, and provides light coverage
for minor imperfections. It’s the perfect way to make
sure your skin is taken care of. I have three young boys
at home, and even they prefer this to normal sunscreen,
because it doesn’t run when wet and burn their eyes.
Get one for your beach bag and one for your purse!

Botox Cosmetic (call for price)
Every timeless beauty has some secrets, and of the most
popular “secrets” is Botox. Nothing ages you quicker
than fine lines and wrinkles around your forehead and
eyes. The injections themselves take only minutes, and
last about three to four months. In the hands of a skilled
injector, you will look refreshed and young, not “fake.”
