Wardrobe
Additions
T
his summer, I decided to change a few shopping habits.
Besides the obvious question I ask myself, “Do I
want it, or do I need it?” I am focused on adding pieces
that have a purpose. No more compulsive shopping.
Building a well-rounded wardrobe means adding a
sense of strategy to the process. All of these items may not fall under
the “need” category, but they are certainly a great addition to my closet.
The list prices may vary due to regular summer markdowns.
Strappy Bi-Stretch Sheath Dress
Banana Republic, $128
Drapey Twill Raglan Trench Coat
St. John Collection, $1,195
One thing I took away from my April trip to New York is that
everyone should have one or two trench coats. They were
quite the uniform for women in Manhatten. My 3-year-old
Brooks Brothers coat is still on-trend, but I wanted one with
more pizzazz. This St. John version can be worn by itself, or
left open and paired with jeans or a sheath dress. nordstrom.com

GAZELLE
If you’ve seen me at a daytime or early evening
event the past few months, chances are that I am
wearing Banana Republic. My obsession with the
brand began after the closing of all The Limited
stores. What was I thinking all those years? Paired
with the right shoe, purse and piece of jewelry, you
can take nearly every Banana Republic dress from
day to night. bananarepublic.com
