Unfortunately, the isolated region, in addition to the difficulty for these women to market their products, jeopardizes the survival of this traditional know-how. S ejnenia NGO has committed since 2012 to economically galvanise this region through the development and the promotion of pottery art. This Sejnene potters’ economic interest group currently brings together some forty potters, and empowers each one of them with a real marketing strategy and a showcase of their pottery. This unique and ancestral art is in the process of being internationally recognised, through its application file, on the Representative List of UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, presented on 31 March of this year. A success that will enable all these women to live with pride and dignity. I Contact: [email protected] 166 167
