23. Julie CSD Parade und CSD Finale
Am 23. Julie werden zum 38. Mal rund eine Million
Menschen bei der CSD Parade und dem CSD Finale
für die Rechtevon Schwulen, Lesben, Transsexuellen
und Transgender, Inter- und Bisexuelle auf die
Straße gehen. Mit bunt geschmückten Wagen geht
es dann durch Berlin, wobei der diesjährige CSD
unter dem Motto: “Danke für nix” steht.
Der CSD erinnert an den ersten bekannt gewordenen
Aufstand von Homosexuellen und anderen sexuellen
Minderheiten gegen die Polizeiwillkür in der New
Yorker Christopher Street im Stadtviertel Greenwich
Village: In den frühen Morgenstunden des 28. Juni
1969 fand in der Bar StonewallInn der sogenannte
Stonewall-Aufstand statt. Zu dieser Zeit gab es
immer wieder gewalttätige Razzien der Polizei in
Kneipen mit homosexuellem Zielpublikum. Es
kam in der Folge zu tagelangen Straßenschlachten
zwischen Homosexuellen und der Polizei.
Der erste „Christopher Street Day“ in Berlin fand
am 30.06.1979 statt - „Gay Pride“ war das Motto,
unter dem in West-Berlin 400 Demonstranten - aus
Angst zum Teil vermummt - auf die Straße gingen.
Sie riefen „Schwule raus aus Euren Löchern, alleine
werdet Ihr verknöchern“, „Lesben erhebt Euch und
die Welt erlebt Euch“.

23nd Juli 2016: CSD parade
This year, on the 23nd of Juli, an estimated 1 million
people will take part in the 38th annual Berlin rally
for the rights of gays, lesbians, transsexuals,
transgenders, intersexuals and bisexuals. The
colourfully decorated parade-floats represent the
theme „Thanks for nothing“
The CSD parade is held in memory of the first public
riot of homosexuals and other sexual minorities
after being arbitrarily handled by the police. At
dawn on the 28th of June 1969, in a time when
violent police raids were very common in bars
with homosexual guests, the so called „Stonewall
Riot“ started in a bar named Stonewall Inn in
Christopher Street, Greenwich Village, New York.
The homosexuals fought the police on the streets of
New York for several days.
The first Christopher Street Day rally in Berlin
took place on the 30th of June 1979. Under the
banner „Gay Pride“ 400 people marched through
West-Berlin shouting „Gays come out of hiding,
alone you will perish“ and „Lesbians arise and the
world will take heed“, some of them so scared to
be recognised that they disguised themselves with
masks.
