USEFUL STUFF Wheel-less ‘trailer’ is good in tight corners H aving something on a plot that one can cart stuff about with that is larger than a wheelbar- row is a really great help, and obviously a small trailer for your tractor comes to mind. But new on the local market is an implement named the Mossiewa, that surpasses even a trailer in handiness and maneuverability. It is a lifting platform that attaches to your tractor's rear hydraulics and as such allows you to load items at ground level (ie no arduous lifting), or off stacks at some height off the ground. Moreover, being wheel-less it is much more maneuverable than a trailer, and will thus prove especially popular with nurserymen, tunnel farmers and stable yards where space is at a premium. And, of course, you will never suffer a puncture! Designed and manufactured by Mr Hangar of Pretoria North, the lift trailer is available in four models to suit all sizes of tractor hydraulics. The smallest unit measures 900mm by 900mm and has a capacity of 500kg, while the largest unit measures 1,48m x 1,2m and has a capacity of 1,5 tons. Two variants of this model are available, namely a flatbed and a model with dropsides, especially suited to carrying sands, manure, grain etc. For more information call Marius on 072 726-3920. Mossiewa lift trailer attached to tractor’s 3-point hydraulics From page 29 of a man's hand and is simply mounted on a handy rafter or roof beam pointing at the rats’ nest. Power is supplied from the house mains and there is a switch on the light, although in reality you will want to switch it on and off at the mains rather than LIGHT clambering into the roof to activate and deactivate it. It can be bought for R980 and installed as a DIY job, or Eco-Solutions will install it for you for R1 490. For more information: Eco- Solutions tel 011 791-7326 31 www.sasmallholder.co.za
