Building awareness of indigenous trees
Every year two ( or sometimes three ) trees are chosen as trees of the year , in an effort to encourage all South Africans to plant indigenous trees . Arbor Week will be celebrated from 4 to 10 September , so this is the time of year that thought turns to care of the trees in our environment , as well as to planting new trees as part of sustainable environmental management .
