Salam Garuda Indonesia
SALAM
GARUDA INDONESIA
M. Arif Wibowo
President & CEO
PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk.
Dear Valued Garuda Indonesia Customers,
This past August marked a significant month
for the operational activities of Garuda
Indonesia, since on August 9, 2016, we officially
moved our entire domestic flight operations
from Terminal 2 to the new Terminal 3 at
Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
We are conducting the move of Garuda
Indonesia’s operations in stages, beginning with
our domestic flights, and moving forward all
Garuda Indonesia flights will be served
through the new Terminal 3.
With this transition, we hope that all of our
valued Garuda Indonesia customers will enjoy
the benefits of better, more modern facilities and
an improved standard of service through the new
Terminal 3. In addition, we hope that the
presence of Garuda Indonesia at the new
Terminal 3 will sharpen our competitive edge,
and raise our brand profile and our abilities as a
global player in the commercial aviation industry.
On a separate note, as a part of our corporate
social responsibility to participate in helping to
develop the nation, Garuda Indonesia was
actively involved in the ‘State-Owned Enterprises
(SOE) for the Nation’ programme, which made a
real impact on community building in the area,
particularly in Mamuju and West Sulawesi in
cooperation with LKBN ANTARA and Indonesia
Re from August 15 to 18, 2016.
There were various activities such as an ‘Explore
the Archipelago Student Exchange Programme’,
SOE directors teaching middle school and high
school students, a renovations for veterans
programme, and initiatives to establish clean
water supplies and development for local
villages. Development initiatives were also
established for the cultivation of local
commodities, entrepreneurial development for
former athletes and former inmates, healthy
community walking events, building
orphanages, as well as holding community
markets for the people.
Moreover, as a form of support toward the
programme of events that took place during
the 71st national Independence Day celebrations
at Lake Toba, North Sumatra, which were
also attended by President Joko Widodo, on
August 18, 2016, Garuda Indonesia launched a
new route from Medan to Silangit served daily
by an ATR 72-600 Explore aircraft with a
capacity of 70 passengers. Garuda Indonesia
also increased the flight frequency for its
Jakarta–Silangit–Sibolga route from three
times weekly to six times weekly served by
a Bombardier CRJ-1000 aircraft with a
capacity of 96 passengers.
Lastly, I would like to thank all of our loyal
customers for your trust and loyalty in always
choosing to fly with Garuda Indonesia.
