Dear valued Garuda Indonesia customers,
In line with our continuous efforts to
expand Garuda Indonesia’s domestic
network and to increase connectivity
between cities where increasing trade and
tourism activities have resulted in solid
economic growth, we have launched
two new routes in the month of
September serving Jakarta–Banyuwangi
and Manado–Luwuk. We are certain
that these new routes will provide even
more flight options for our customers
in these regions.
Both routes will be served using our
Bombardier CRJ1000 fleet with a
96-passenger capacity. Our Jakarta–
Banyuwangi route will operate five
times a week, while Manado–Luwuk
will fly four times a week.
It is our hope that these new routes
will not just improve connectivity
between Banyuwangi or Luwuk and
other domestic and international cities,
but also increase Garuda Indonesia’s
contributions in boosting tourism and
economic growth in these destinations
and their surrounding areas.
Aside from our new domestic routes,
Garuda Indonesia passengers will also be
able to enjoy direct flights from Jakarta to
London starting October 31, 2017, which
will fly three times a week using our
B777-300ER aircraft. This new service
makes Garuda Indonesia the airline
with the fastest, most comfortable and
most efficient direct flight from Indonesia
to the United Kingdom and Europe.
This non-stop flight is also part of our
efforts to optimise our flight network,
in line with our ongoing route
restructuring programme.
Moreover, to facilitate travel activity
among Indonesians, for whom travelling
has become a part of their lifestyle, we
recently held Garuda Indonesia Travel
Fair (GATF) 2017 Phase II in September
across 22 cities, a follow-up to the success
of GATF 2017 Phase I, which took place
earlier this year in March.
GATF Phase II is also currently offering
exciting deals for inbound routes to
Indonesia, which can be accessed online
in 17 foreign cities through the
Garuda Indonesia mobile app.
Through this travel fair, based on a
one-stop shopping concept, we hope to
make it even more convenient for our
customers to go on their dream trips with
a 5-star airline served by the world’s best
cabin crew at an attractive price.
September also saw Garuda Indonesia
receiving two awards, namely the ‘Top 10
Most Powerful Brands in Indonesia’ and
‘Top 3 Most Powerful Transportation/
Logistics Brands in Indonesia’, during the
prestigious Brand ASIA 2017 award event,
held by MarkPlus, Inc. and Japanese
consultancy company Nikkei BP
Consulting, Inc. These awards are further
proof of the public’s acknowledgement of
our consistent performance, which would
not have been possible without the hard
work of our staff. These awards also further
motivate us to continue providing the best
possible services to our customers.
As Garuda Indonesia Group continues to
grow in line with its vision to provide the
best ‘Integrated Aviation Services’, Garuda
Maintenance Facility (GMF) AeroAsia,
a subsidiary of Garuda Indonesia, held a
Public Exposé on September 11 ahead of
its Initial Public Offering (IPO), which is
due to take place on October 10.
The IPO will ensure funding for GMF’s
expansion plans in the future, especially
in its efforts to increase GMF AeroAsia’s
capacity and capability to become one of
the world’s top 10 MROs.
