COCKPIT AND CABIN CREW UNIFORMS
One of the most memorable aspects of an
airline’s identity is the uniforms worn by the
cockpit and cabin crew aboard each flight.
Pilot
The male and female pilots’ uniform consists
of a white short-sleeved shirt with shoulder
badge, dark blue long trousers, a cap with an
emblem, and dark blue jacket with metal
wings emblem.
Male and Female Cabin Crew
As the flag carrier for Indonesia,
Garuda Indonesia proudly promotes
Indonesia to the world through the
nuanced fashion of its cabin crew uniforms.
In line with the Corporate Identity
(Brand) Refresh Programme, in 2010
Garuda Indonesia introduced a new uniform
for its cabin crews. The design concept of the
cabin crew uniform was adjusted to better
dovetail the ‘Garuda Indonesia Experience’
service concept, which reflects the culture,
hospitality and other unique qualities of
the Indonesian people.
Male Cabin Crew
Male cabin crew uniforms consist of a grey
single-breasted suit with matching waistcoat
and trousers, a light blue long-sleeved shirt,
and a tie in motifs that reflect the
Garuda Indonesia identity. This uniform
is used by all male cabin crew from the Flight
Service Manager (FSM) level to the junior and
senior cabin crew, Maître d’Cabin, Chef and
Manager de Cuisine, referred to subsequently
as Manager Cuisine.
Female Cabin Crew
Indonesia’s rich culture is reflected in the
female cabin crew uniforms, which use a
combination of kebaya and batik sarong
featuring the ‘Lereng Garuda Indonesia’
motif. The motif is inspired by the
‘Parang Gondosuli’ batik pattern, which
philosophically symbolises the light and
fragrance of life. The uniform is completed
with a silver brooch with the classic Balinese
ukel motif, and slingback open-toe shoes.
Aboard Middle Eastern flights, female cabin
crew uniforms also feature a veil in the same
‘Lereng Garuda Indonesia’ motif and colour.
