GARUDA INDONESIA WINS THREE
PRESTIGIOUS AWARDS
Ensuring the best service has successfully
garnered Garuda Indonesia the recognition
of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA),
which bestowed the international ‘Gold
Award’ upon the airline in the ‘Service’
category. Two service concepts were
recognised, the ‘Immigration on Board’
(IoB) service concept in the ‘Marketing –
Carrier’ category, and the ‘Garuda Indonesia
Experience’ service concept in the
‘Heritage’ category.
The award was accepted by the EVP of Services
at PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk., Faik
Fahmi, at the PATA Awards 2014 in Phnom
Penh, Cambodia, on September 19, 2014.
Prior to that award, on September 15, 2014,
Garuda Indonesia was voted as ‘The Best
Airline in Asia and Australasia’ for a second
consecutive year at the Passenger Choice
Awards 2014 held by the Airline Passenger
Experience (APEX).
The award was also accepted by the EVP of
Services at PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero)
Tbk., Faik Fahmi, during the APEX Awards
Ceremony held in Anaheim, California, USA.
In addition to winning the ‘Best in Region’
category, Garuda Indonesia was also chosen
as one of the ‘Top 5 Airlines with Best Cabin
Ambience’ along with Virgin America,
Austrian Airlines, El Al Israel Airlines and Air
Transat. Garuda Indonesia was also included
in the top 5 ‘Best Food and Beverage’ category
together with Emirates, Turkish Airlines, El
Al Israel Airlines and Ethiopian Airlines. The
national airline also found a place on the
‘World’s Top 10 Airlines’ list, sitting at the
number 7 spot, up one spot from last year.
