LONTAR PALM
The lontar palm tree is the
giving tree of Rote. The island’s
economy and society revolve
around it. Not only is it used
to make sasando and ti’i langga,
but its nourishing shoot is also
cut and made into a sugarysweet juice: the perfect allnatural thir st quencher after
a day of ripping waves.
Pohon lontar adalah pohon
kehidupan di Rote. Ekonomi dan
masyarakat pulau ini tak jauh
dari pohon lontar. Tak hanya
digunakan untuk membuat
sasando dan ti’i langga, pohon
lontar ini diambil niranya
untuk dibuat minuman
yang menyegarkan setelah
seharian berselancar.
