5 Senses – Taste
TORAJALAND
The fresh rice in the central marketplace
warungs, the lasting taste of the arabica
coffee and of course the ginger-scented
sarapa will stay forever in the memory.
Newly created rice terraces cling like
limpets to the steep hillside above Rantepao.
Warung-warung yang menjual beras,
kopi Arabika-nya yang enak, dan tentunya
sarapa beraroma jahe adalah hal-hal yang
tak terlupakan.
A farmer carries his wares to market.
A lone farmer negotiates his way
through the elevated walkways that
connect the rice terraces.

Tana Toraja
To appreciate a Torajan experience,
one has to ‘get close to the stars’. A drive
to the highest points will give spectacular
views of the majestic valleys below.
The rice terraces tumble to the valley floor
and are surrounded by the soaring roofs of
tongkonan houses.
Untuk merasakan bagaimana menjadi
orang Toraja, kita harus “mendekat ke
bintang”. Berkendara ke puncak, kita akan
melihat pemandangan lembah yang
menakjubkan. Sawah terhampar hingga
ke dasar lembah dengan atap-atap rumah
Tongkonan di sekitarnya.
