Hal inilah yang mendorong PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. bekerja sama dengan PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk., pada 13-15 September menggelar Garuda Indonesia Travel Fair (GATF) Improving Tourism with Garuda Indonesia Taking part in the development of national tourism is one of Garuda Indonesia’s missions. This is the sentiment behind the Garuda Indonesia Travel Fair (GATF), which was held from September 13 to 15 by PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. in cooperation with PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk and Boeing. The limousine used for Garuda Indonesia’s Pre and Post Journey Services and a lifesize replica of a Boeing 777-300ER which showcases the First Class and Executive Class interiors welcomed visitors as they entered the GATF area in Cendrawasih and Plenary Hall at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC). The three-day event was inaugurated by the Minister of StateOwned Enterprises of the Republic of Indonesia Dahlan Iskan, President Director of BNI Gatot M. Suwondo and the President and the CEO of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. Emirsyah Satar. The 2013 GATF event in Jakarta was the highlight of the GATF roadshow, which toured 15 cities in Indonesia throughout the year. According to Emirsyah Satar, GATF is one of the many ways in which Garuda Indonesia strives to improve Indonesian tourism, by providing interesting and affordable holiday packages to the public. “With GATF 2013, Garuda Indonesia aimed to attract 55,000 visitors and provide them with information on the best holiday destinations and holiday packages. Visitors were also updated on the latest information on Garuda Indonesia’s services, like the First Class service and the new Boeing 777300ER fleet,” said Emirsyah Satar. To introduce the advantages of the First Class service, Garuda Indonesia made a replica of the Boeing 777-300ER cabin, along with its interior. The replica was attended to by a real cabin crew, allowing visitors to directly experience the First Class service, including its premium facilities equivalent to those of a five-star hotel in the sky. Indonesian and European dishes, including caviar, ribs and champagne, were provided by the Chef on Board service, informing visitors of the gourmet meals available on the new service. The new First Class lounge at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport was also showcased at one of the GATF stands. The event involved around 50 travel agents, 20 hotel companies, the National Tourism Organisation and more. GATF 2013 visitors were spoiled by many interesting offers and discounts, such as up to 25% discounts on domestic and international tickets for all available classes. BNI credit card holders were also able to enjoy 0% payment for 3 months with a minimum transaction of 1 million rupiah, or 0.8% interest for 12 months with a minimum transaction of 6.9 million rupiah. Acara yang berlangsung selama tiga hari ini dibuka oleh Menteri BUMN RI, Dahlan Iskan, Direktur Utama BNI, Gatot M. Suwondo dan Direktur Utama PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk., Emirsyah Satar. Pelaksanaan GATF 2013 di Jakarta ini merupakan puncak dari pelaksanaan roadshow GATF di 15 kota besar di Indonesia yang telah dilaksanakan sebelumnya di sepanjang tahun ini. Menurut Emirsyah, pelaksanaan GATF di Jakarta ini merupakan bentuk dukungan Garuda Indonesia terhadap peningkatan pariwisata Indonesia, serta untuk memfasilitasi masyarakat dalam mendapatkan paket wisata yang menarik dengan harga terjangkau. “Untuk GATF 2013 ini, Garuda Indonesia memiliki target sebanyak 55.000 pengunjung yang dapat mengakses informasi mengenai seluruh destinasi wisata terbaik dan paket wisata. Pada kesempatan ini, pengunjung juga mendapatkan informasi terbaru layanan Garuda Indonesia, seperti layanan First Class dan pesawat baru Boeing 777-300ER,” jelas Emirsyah. Untuk lebih mengenalkan keunggulan layanan First Class, Garuda Indonesia membuat tiruan kabin pesawat Boeing 777-300ER yang lengkap bersama fasilitas interior dan awak kabin yang melayaninya. Dengan demikian para pengunjung dapat merasakan langsung bagaimana nuansa layanan First Class dengan segala fasilitas premiumnya yang bak hotel bintang 5 di udara. Menu Indonesia dan Eropa seperti caviar, ribs dan sampanye pun lengkap disajikan bersama dengan chef on board yang siap menjelaskan kepada pengunjung yang membutuhkan informasi. Tak hanya itu, fasilitas lounge yang elegan dan nyaman khusus bagi pelanggan First Class yang kini telah dapat dinikmati di Bandara Udara Soekarno-Hatta pun turut ditampilkan dalam stan-stan GATF ini. Dalam gelaran yang diikuti antara lain oleh 50 agen perjalanan, 20 industri perhotelan, National Tourism Organisation dan banyak lagi, para pengunjung GATF 2013 dimanjakan dengan beragam penawaran menari
