MIDO CELEBRATES 100 TH ANNIVERSARY THROUGH
COMMANDER BIG DATE
Swiss watchmaker Mido
launched Commander Big
Date, a series of new models
of watches in the iconic Mido
Commander collection, during
the celebration of its 100 th
anniversary at the Shanghai
Expo I-Pavilion in Shanghai,
China, on January 25, 2018.
The new collection is in line with
Mido’s DNA: timeless, excellent and
innovative. Elegantly designed, it has a
Caliber 80-based large date window at
six o’clock on a domed sapphire crystal
dial with the protection of a 42mm
stainless steel case.
With a 316L stainless steel bracelet,
the Commander collection displays an
inimitable silhouette thanks to its satin-
finished circular case, the finest touches
of rose PVD on its polished bezel and
flat diamond-cut hands treated with
Super-LumiNova that glows white in
the dark.
During the 3D show-filled ceremony,
iconic robot Robi, the ambassador of Mido,
appeared as a mystery guest, giving other
guests an exciting visual experience.
They celebrated the big day with
Franz Linder, the President of Mido;
Stephanie Wang, the Brand Manager
of Mido China; Susan Chen, the President
of Swatch Group China; and Yuping Zhang,
the President of Shanghai Xinyu Group.
“We are delighted to share Mido’s long
history and brand value with these
new additions to the Commander
series,” Linder said in his speech.
“The celebration of the 100 th anniversary
will continue throughout the year.”
Founded in 1918 by Georges Schaeren
and based in the town of Le Locle in the
Swiss Jura, Mido continues to grow
confidently with a strong vision.
Mido watches not only surpass fashion
trends, but are praised for their durability
thanks to cutting-edge technology and
