The month of February was an important
one for us as independent airline-rating
company Skytrax once again named
Garuda Indonesia a 5-Star Airline during
the Singapore Airshow 2018 at Changi
Exhibition Centre.
This achievement not only affirms our
position as one of the top airlines, committed
to enhancing travel experiences and comfort,
but it also represents the success of our
Indonesian Hospitality service concept on
a global stage. This gives us a competitive
advantage, especially with Indonesia’s
unique warmth and hospitality being
placed at the forefront of our services.
At the same event, Skytrax also granted
Citilink Indonesia, a Garuda Indonesia
subsidiary, a 4-Star Low Cost Carrier (LCC)
title. This achievement fills us with pride as
Citilink Indonesia is the first LCC in Asia to
be granted the prestigious title.
We deeply believe that these achievements
would not have been possible without
your generous support as customers of
Garuda Indonesia’s services, as well as the
hard work of all Garuda Indonesia Group
staff members who continue to give their
best in what they do.
The month of February also saw the launch
of GarudaShop, a special channel on
www.jd.id, which makes it easier for our
customers to purchase exclusive
Garuda Indonesia merchandise and products
online. Additionally, we established
partnerships with Willis Towers Watson and
PT Chubb General Insurance Indonesia
(Chubb) to release the new Garuda Lifestyle
Protection insurance product as added
value for GarudaMiles members.
Meanwhile, as part of our efforts to expand our
network and to facilitate air transportation
access to Sorong, Garuda Indonesia began
serving a new Jakarta–Sorong route daily at
the beginning of March. The flight, which
will utilise our fleet of B737-800 NG aircraft,
complements our existing daily service to
Sorong from Makassar.
