Salam Garuda Indonesia
SALAM
GARUDA INDONESIA
M. Arif Wibowo
President & CEO
PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk.
Dear Valued Customers,
As an archipelagic country comprising more
than 17,000 islands, air transportation plays
both a vital and a strategic role in connecting
regions across Indonesia, and also,
importantly, in helping to stimulate social,
economic and cultural growth in the country.
In this new attraction, children can pretend
to be air passengers, operate various flight
operations equipment, and even engage in
role playing as pilots or flight attendants –
which will hopefully inspire a love for airline
professions from an early age.
In view of this and in line with the various
improvements being carried out throughout
the company, Garuda Indonesia is
attempting to preserve, introduce and
foster pride among Indonesians towards
the Indonesian airline industry in general.
Meanwhile, in relation to our flight network
development programme, on February 6,
2015, we proudly opened a new route from
Kualanamu International Airport in Medan
to Maimun Saleh Airport in Sabang.
In February 2015, Garuda Indonesia,
in collaboration with one of the largest
children’s recreation centres in Indonesia,
introduced a new fun, yet educational,
aviation-themed attraction – including
flight operation facilities, such as an airplane
mock-up, flight simulators and an
introduction to various professions
found in the airline industry.
The opening of this new service to Sabang
marks another milestone for Garuda
Indonesia, as the airline now connects cities
from Sabang to Merauke, which are
respectively the furthest western and eastern
regions in all of Indonesia.
Lastly, I would like to thank all of our loyal
customers for your continued trust and
support and for always choosing to fly
Garuda Indonesia.
