Dear valued Garuda Indonesia customers,
As we move closer towards the
implementation of Southeast Asia’s
free trade agreement under the ASEAN
Vision 2020, it is time for us, as part of the
ASEAN Economic Community, to prepare
ourselves to become a competitive market
within the region. And as we equip
ourselves to adapt to these changes,
we should perhaps emulate the work
ethic of the Chinese community.
Beyond being skilful, the Chinese are
known for their moderation, something
that is in keeping with the vision of the
upcoming Lunar New Year on February 5,
2019, which will mark the start of the
Year of the Earth Pig. Chronicles say
that those born during this time in
the Chinese zodiac calendar are smart,
lighthearted and productive individuals
who are also diligent, highly motivated
and likely to dedicate their life to
work and family.
Such a work ethic and positive
characteristics are not earned in an
instant, but rather attained through a
process of learning and evolving: in which
one acquires knowledge without limiting
one’s self to a particular field, whether
science or social affairs. While at the same
time developing a sensitivity
for others around them; maintaining
humanity, learning to love others
and being aware of potential danger –
maintaining a positive mind
and acting with restraint.
It is also just as important that one
remains receptive to change. There is
no need to overextend in achieving
for the sake of dramatic advancement,
it is enough to simply take small steps,
one at a time. Maybe try taking a different
route to work, or rearranging your desk.
While these may seem like simple acts,
this process of change could have
a bigger impact on our growth and
on others around us.
Without a will and openness to
undergo these learning processes and
changes, success won’t be easy to achieve.
On the contrary, one may encounter
failures that one will regret in the future.
But in the face of potential adversity,
stay strong and move forward calmly.
In this way, one will continue the
cycle of learning and progression.
This is the path Garuda Indonesia Group
is perpetuating. New changes have given
birth to new norms and innovations.
The nation’s flag-carrier has continuously
undergone a learning process in order to
create a renewed spirit that is in line with
the needs and demands of the market,
especially through our plans to open
new routes throughout 2019.
These routes include London–Denpasar
in January, Jakarta–Nagoya in March,
followed by Jakarta–Istanbul, Jakarta–
Moscow, Jakarta–Paris and Jakarta–Los
Angeles later this year.
As our mission statement says,
‘One Nation, One Family, and One
Garuda Indonesia,’ this flag-carrier
is continuing to be a unified family
that delivers its service from the heart.
