The inaugural flight of
Garuda Indonesia.
1965
Garuda Indonesia launches
its first route to Europe with
Amsterdam flights.
1956
1976
Garuda Indonesia’s first Hajj
flight to Mecca.
Garuda Indonesia begins
operation of its first wide-body
aircraft, the DC-10.
1984
Garuda Indonesia becomes
one of the largest airlines in
Asia, operating the largest
fleet of jet planes (including
the Fokker 28).
1994
Garuda Indonesia begins
operation of the biggest
widebody aircraft of the 1990s,
the Boeing 747-400.
1985
2008
Garuda Indonesia begins
using the ‘Modern Bird
Symbol’ logo that is still
used today.
Garuda Indonesia receives IATA
Operational Safety Audit (IOSA)
certification, an internationally
accredited global certification for
flight safety and security.
