JEAN TODT 50 TH
ANNIVERSARY
COLLECTION
The close relationship
of Richard Mille and the
President of the Fédération
Internationale de l’Automobile
(FIA), Jean Todt, has inspired
an exclusive collection bearing
the latter’s name. The limited
edition collection is a tribute to
the 50 th year of Jean Todt’s
career in the automotive world.
The collection produced by the Swiss watch
brand is composed of three models, RM 11-03,
RM 050 and the RM 056 Jean Todt
50 th Anniversary. As well as using Jean Todt’s
name, the three models are also rendered
in the favourite colour of the former
professional racer, who started his career
as an amateur rally co-driver.
The RM 11-03 has a blue-and-white Quartz
TPT® case as well as an architectural
automatic calibre made from grade-five
titanium. This flyback chronograph timepiece
takes inspiration from cars and is composed of
600 silica layers each measuring 45 microns
thick, which were then inserted into Richard
Mille’s exclusive blue resin. This combination
of components was heated to 120 degrees
before being fitted with a movement.
The blue Quartz TPT® case is also used for the
second model, the RM 050. This split-second
chronograph watch is regulated by a tourbillon.
The skeletonised link between the bridges
and the movement base is made of titanium
and carbon nanofibre, which has resulted in
a lightweight movement that weighs a mere
9.5g yet possesses amazing precision.
The third model in the collection, the RM 056,
is no less special. Crafted from sapphire, the
construction and curvature of the watch
