She counts driving through the Uyghur country in Xinjiang, western China, as one of her most memorable travel experiences. Angela was formerly the chief editor of an English-language print and online media company in Indonesia, but she left to pursue the unpredictable life of a freelance journalist. Her passions are human rights, the environment and all things Indonesian. She is the founder of an annual event called Clean Up Jakarta Day, where tens of thousands of volunteers gather to raise awareness of the city’s litter problems. Born in Bukittinggi, Fadli has based himself in Jakarta for the last four years. He is one of the founding members of Arka Project, an independent collective of Indonesian photographers, and his work has been published by Monocle, The New York Times and Forbes Indonesia among others. Mark Eveleigh arrived in Kalimantan 20 years ago, leading an expedition that became the subject of his first book. Since then he’s worked on assignments all over Indonesia and is delighted that there are still enough remote islands to last him a lifetime. He’s currently writing what he hopes will be the great Indonesian travel book. Illustrator Hendri Nguriana has loved drawing since elementary school. Creating illustrations is his favourite way of expressing the ideas, fantasies and abstract concepts in his mind. He takes inspiration mostly from his favourite movies and video games and from his travels.
