About Chief Zuidema Chief Brandon Zuidema was appointed Chief of Police for the Town of Garner in December 2009. He has a master’s degree in sociology from Longwood University in Virginia, a master’s certificate in local government management from Virginia Tech, and is a graduate of the Public Executive Leadership Academy and the Municipal Administration course at the UNC School of Government. He is active with the International Association of Chiefs of Police, serves on the board of directors for the North Carolina Association of Chiefs of Police, and serves as the Executive Director for the Garner Police Athletic Activities League. Message from the Chief Thank you for taking the time to learn more about the Garner Police Department. I am proud to serve as the Chief of Police for the Town of Garner and feel fortunate to work with an outstanding group of men and women dedicated to our values of Commitment, Integrity, and Professionalism and to maintaining public safety for our residents, businesses, and visitors. This annual report is intended to highlight the significant event and accomplishments of the Garner Police Department in 2016 and to provide an overview of our efforts in the pursuit of public safety and quality of life in our community. It highlights our ongoing initiatives, identifies new programs, and speaks to good work of the men and women working with our many community partners.
