“My conver-
sations with col-
lege teams have
gone pretty well
but at this point, I’m
just trying to gather as
much information on the col-
leges and the WHL as I can,” he
said. “I have to know what I need
to make my decision.
“My dad always says to be, ‘What draft
matters more? The NHL or the WHL?’ I know the
WHL draft is coming but I don’t spend a lot of time thinking
about it. I definitely don’t let it interfere in how I play. It’s in your
mind, but it’s not something you fuss about. Right now, I’m listening
to everybody and just trying to figure out what my best option is.”
Jarvis began playing at age four in Tuxedo, but before he was ever
registered to play organized hockey he was playing in the backyard
with his dad, a man Seth calls, “a big hockey guy.”
He played his early years in Tuxedo and then moved to the Assini-
boine Park Rangers and then the Monarchs organization. Now he’s
with the Nationals because he believes it’s the best program avail-
able to help with his development.
After all, this RHA Nationals club is a group that finished 23-5-2
in the regular season of the CSSHL Bantam Prep season and then
went 1-2-0 in the post-season. Jarvis had a goal in a 3-2 loss to Notre
Dame; two goals and an assist in a 7-4 loss to Pursuit of Excellence
and an assist in a 6-2 win over the Okana-
gan Hockey Academy.
“This is the best program in Manitoba,”
said Jarvis, who played at Starbuck
Hockey Academy last year. “It’s crazy,
how much I’ve learned since the be-
ginning of the season and I know I’ve
become a much better player. I’ve
had an amazing time. There are so
many more things I can do this
year than I could do last year.
This program is amazing.” n
