ever use to describe the 2016-17 Manitoba Women’s Ju-
nior Hockey League champion Silvertips is “team.”
“Team. That’s the exact word for how we got to where we are,”
said Vandepoele on the ice at MTS Iceplex after the Silvertips beat
the gutsy Northern Stars to win the MWJHL and provincial junior
women’s title.
“Nobody gave up,” added Vandepoele, who coached the Silver-
tips with Curtis Smith and Haley Vandepoel
