After completing a one-year contract with the San Jose Sharks and playing for their H a filiatein llen  e .  rownhassi ned a new ECHL deal with the Wichita Thunder, an a filiateo the dmonton ilers. By his own admission, Brown has bounced around. A Winnipegger whose dad played for the River East Royal Knights, will begin his third year as a professional this season. He had a tryout with the Manitoba Moose this fall, but was released and signed on with Wichita. A left-handed shooting defenseman, he was afi th roundselection (149th overall) of the Chicago Blackhawks out of the Western Hockey League’s Moose Jaw Warriors bac in .Heplayedalmostfive full seasons in the WHL with Moose Jaw and Victoria. In two seasons as a pro, he’s played with the St. John’s Ice Caps and San Jose Barracuda of the American Hockey League and the Brampton Beast and the Allen Americans of the ECHL. “This is a pretty pivotal season for myself coming up,” Brown said this summer as he helpedraisemoney or . . . .atthe  Iceplex. “This is the year I feel I have to raise the level of my game in order to take the next step.
