STONEWALL, MB – It’s hard to
imagine anyone sees success
in the future of the Stonewall
Jets more than Bradley
Dawson. OK, maybe Hunter
Ploszay or Chase Faulkner,
but Dawson is still pretty
optimistic.
Granted, Dawson’s Jets
are coming off two very
successful seasons, including
a loss in last year’s MMJHL
final and a championship two
seasons ago. Dawson was a
fixture on the team for both
of those results and continues
to be a stalwart defenseman
going into his final year in
the Manitoba Major Junior
Hockey League.
This year, the Jets have
some new,young players in
the fold and Dawson believes
that once the team’s chemistry
settles, the Jets will again be a
championship-caliber club.
“The core is there and you
can see the younger guys are
fitting in very well,” Dawson
said. “We lost some offensive
players from last year, but the
veteran guys know they have
to step up.”
By his own admission,
Dawson is a stay-at-home
defenseman who likes to mix
it up and keep things clear
in front of the net. Happy
with his game, he admits that
he’s constantly working on
his puck handling skills and
offensive zone play.
“I’m trying to be more
patient in the offensive zone,”
he conceded. “Possession
and control are both very
important. And trying to
set up goals is one of the
important things I’m always
working on.”
Dawson started playing the
game when he was six-years-
old with the Teulon Tigers.
Age-advanced at an early age
because of his height, he got
used to a rough and tumble
brand of rural Manitoba
hockey.
The pride of Teulon, he loves
his home town and continues
to reside there with his mom
and dad who own and operate
Teulon Tractor and Motor.
Brad has decided on a career
in cabinet making and is in the
third year of an apprenticeship
program and is also completing
another round of courses at
Red River College.

goes into cabinet making and
