MANITOBA MOOSE IN THE COMMUNITY Moose Give from the Heart to St. Amant’s Autism Program THE OPENING FACE OFF FOR AUTISM AWARENESS NIGHT WITH COUSINS PARKER AND MADDEN By Michelle Gazze Photos by Jonathan Kozub D MOOSE PROMOTIONS CREW SELLING PUZZLES INSIDE MTS CENTRE 44 GAME ON 2017 CHAMPIONS EDITION uring the month of March, the Manitoba Moose launched their second annual autism awareness campaign in sup- port of St. Amant’s autism program. Although World Autism Awareness Day was April 2, 2017, the Moose have celebrated throughout the entire month of March leading up to this significant and impactful day. As puzzles are the symbolism for autism, autographed player puzzles from Patrice Cormier, Eric Comrie, JC Lipon, Chase De Leo, Quinton Howden, Jack Roslovic were for sale at Moose home games in March. Play- ers also wore puzzle-inspired jerseys on Autism Awareness Night presented by Red River Co-op on March 24, jerseys which were later auctioned off. Proceeds from the puzzle sales and autism awareness jersey auc- tion were donated to St. Amant’s autism program. This year’s Autism Awareness Game was unique as eight-year- old cousins, Parker and Madden participated in the special Opening Face Off presentation. Both cousins and their families have received support from St. Amant’s autism program and were delighted to be a part of the game. To add to the special evening, St. Amant families attending the Autism Awareness Game were also provided a Guide to the Game. Created by the Manitoba Moose Hockey Club, the guide is a resource tool focused on enhancing the game-day experience for families who support individuals with autism. Post-game, the families in at-
