four . I played boys hockey until I was eight but then the boys were getting a bit too rough , so my parents decided to put me in girls ’ hockey in Stonewall . From that time , I just played female hockey from Atom to Midget . My high school in Warren didn ’ t have a girls ’ team so I played Bantam and Midget . In Grade 12 , I signed up to play boys hockey , but they didn ’ t have enough players and the team got cancelled . “ In Midget , we were classified as Double A , but we really played in the A league . I was the oldest player on my team , with one other girl , Jordyn McInnes , who is on the Western Predators now , and then one girl , who was one year younger than me , Kyra Hoffman , who now plays for the Manitoba Blizzard . We played together through our Midget careers all in Stonewall . Me and Kyra grew up together and then we started playing with Jordyn . Her dad was our coach and we kind of stuck together for about five years . Then we took a year off and we decided to try out for this league . We came to the MWJHL tryouts and sadly , we were all separated to different teams . But it ’ s still fun to play against each other . “ This league was a little more competitive for me . The girls are faster and more skilled than they were in Midget . I didn ’ t have a problem scoring in this league . It wasn ’ t easy , it definitely was a challenge . The goalies were a lot better and the players are always on you . But I was pleased with the year I had .” While Anderson has at least three my greatest memory in hockey was back in Grade 12 when I was playing for the
