The Manitoba Moose Community Club Practice
COMMUNITY CLUB PRACTICE
Minor hockey associations all across
Manitoba had an opportunity to enter
the Moose Community Club Practice
promotion, for a chance to watch the
Manitoba Moose practice on their host
rink and then join them on the ice
afterwards for a practice of their own.
Over 70 teams entered the contest and
the Varsity View Community Centre
was selected as this year’s winner. The
Moose travelled to Varsity View on Jan.
2, where they held a practice and later
invited the Minor Atom A1 Winterhawks
Blue onto the ice for a practice of their
own, which was run by the Moose players
and coaching staff. Following the on-ice
session, members of the Winterhawks
Blue, as well as those in attendance for
the practice, had an opportunity to receive
an autograph and have their photo taken
with the entire Moose roster. For the
Moose players, this community initiative
is an opportunity each year for them to
relive the feeling of driving to the rink in
their gear and having the opportunity to
give back to the kids in the community.
The community initiatives are just
getting started for the Moose in the
new year. With the Stick to Reading
school visits taking place in February
and the Autism Awareness campaign
throughout the month of March, there
are still plenty of opportunities to find
your favorite Moose players around the
