Nicolas Burmey
He wears No. 55 and
tries to model his game
after another great
No. 55: Winnipeg Jets
Assistant Captain Mark
Scheifele. “He’s a role model
and a leader who does it
all – he scores, he sets
guys up, and he leads by
example, playing hard all
the time. That's what I try
to do, play hard and lead
by example. We have a lot
of 17-year-olds and it’s
important to lead them and
make them better players
and ultimately a better team.
That's what I'm trying to do
every night.”

Burmey loves hanging
out with friends and
watching movies. He
used to play a lot of
video games but his studies
plus hockey dominate his
time. His favorite movie is
Happy Gilmore. His favorite
actors are Adam Sandler
and Jennifer Aniston.

Nicolas considers Riley
Beauchemin of the St.
Vital Victorias to be
the best player in the
league and he’s also high on
Stonewall's Chase Faulkner.
“Faulkner is so hard to get
the puck from and is such
a force on the ice.” Burmey
considers Transcona’s Nico
Gravel to be the premiere
defenseman. “He’s on the
ice all the time and really
controls the play.”

shoes as well as great
socks.” The worst dressed

“He does, however, wear the
funkiest hats.”
7
The funniest guy on the
team is Brett Lefko. “He
tells great jokes and
keeps the guys loose.”

was Shakespeare’s
Romeo and Juliet.
