able to use its skating advantage
to defeat Team Manitoba by a final
score of 3-0. Keyanna Lea receivied
Manitoba’s game star award.
In their final game of the round
robin, Team Manitoba needed the
offense to come out firing against
Team Saskatchewan in order to
have a chance of going to the
medal round. Despite absolutely
dominating the first period of play,
Manitoba was unable to cash in on
any of their chances. Buoyed by a
second period 5-on-3 powerplay,
Team Saskatchewan was able to
slowly take over the game and
eliminate Team Toba from the
medal round with a 4-0 win. Ashley
McFadden received the game star
against Team Saskatchewan and it
was then on to the seventh-place
game to take on Team Atlantic
and finish off the tournament.
Team Manitoba refused to
finish the tournament without a
win and played their strongest
game of the tournament against
Team Atlantic. After going down
1-0 early, Team Toba was able
to battle back and finish with a
solid 2-1 victory to complete the
tournament in seventh place.
Despite the results on the
ice, all players, coaches and
team staff enjoyed a fantastic
week in Quebec City and for
all involved the experience will
definitely be something that
will last for a very long time.
