STARS
ARE BACK
NORWAY HOUSE NORTH STARS head coach Claude
Anderson remembers showing up in Winnipeg
last season with only 12 players on the bus.
“Our players would get pretty tired by the third
period,” Anderson said with a smile. “It’s hard
to win when you have one or two players on
your bench. Things are much better this season.
I don’t know if you can say, ‘We’re back,’ yet,
but we’re a lot better than we have been the last
couple of years.”
The last few seasons have not been kind to
the Keystone Junior Hockey League’s Norway
House North Stars. In 2014-15, the North Stars
were 13-17-0-2 and playoff bound. However, at
the start of the 2015-16 campaign an expansion
team was added right down the road when the
Cross Lake Islanders began play in the KJHL.
