HARNETT NAMED GM/HEAD COACH
IN WAYWAY
Edmonton’s Taylor Harnett has been
named General Manager and Head Coach
of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League’s
Waywayseecappo Wolverines. Harnett has
been coaching for 20 years and will have a real
challenge turning around the Wolverines. The
last-place Wolverines were 1-22-0-1 when Harnett
was named coach and GM.
Paul MacLean, who replaced the previous head
coach Arnie Caplan in early November, as the
interim head coach, will be retained a Associate
Coach. Dustin Korlak will remain with the club as
Director of Player Operations.

Raiders forward Carson Rybuck,
one of the most talented – and tough –
players in the Manitoba Major Junior
Hockey League was named the league’s
Player of the Month for October.
Rybuck, who was instrumental in
last year’s MMJHL championship run,
had nine goals and 23 points in 13
games in October.
Ryan Hall of the Charleswood
Hawks was named October Goalie
of the Month. In six games (361
minutes), Hall made 191 saves and
allowed only nine goals. He went 4-1-1
with three shutouts and had a goals
against average of 1.50 along with an
eye-popping save percentage of .953.
The gifted Nicolas Gravel (see page
34) of the Transcona Railer Express
was named the defenseman of the
month. Gravel had four goals and 22
points in 13 games on October.
And Owen Stebnitsky of the St.
Boniface Riels was named Rookie of
the Month. In 13 games, he had eight
goals and 14 points.
