There are remote corners of the British
Empire where the supernatural lurks and the
shadows linger, where few dare go and fewer
return. Rebellion Developments latest project,
Strange Brigade pits players against the unruly
supernatural, including the encounter of fantastic
and forgotten civilizations shrouded in mystery,
uncovering treacherous tombs, where the
testing of your wits are challenged around every
corner.
Designed to harness a crazy good time for
players with friends, Strange Brigade is a
straight forward, yet entertaining cooperative
experience with a tomb raidering flare where
players explore the ancient world as one of four
dashing explorers, each blessed with their own
weapons, tactics, and special superhuman
powers. Players fight back-to-back against a
terrifying army of mythological menaces,
unleashed by no less than a resurrected
Egyptian witch queen.
Location: Egypt, timeframe: 1930’s. Erased
from ancient history and buried in a nameless
tomb for 4,000 years, Seteki the Witch Queen
has risen once again. Your job, hunt Seteki
through a rip-roaring campaign filled with
dangerous dig sites, prodigious pyramids and
crumbling caves packed with bountiful foes to
send back to the afterlife.
Impressively, Rebellion makes great use of
Egypts varied locales as players will travel the
ancient world while unleasing devastating
magical powers and powerful prototype
weapons such as the fire-spitting Krakatoa, the
ice cold Chill Burster, and the brain-busting
Blunderbuss. Things go boom quite often in
Strange Brigade as the laundry list of enemy
types maintain an aggressive progression
behavior. Thankfully, enemies offer an
interesting level of unique approaches which
also adds to the fun factor.
According to Rebellion Seteki is not the only
mythological menace to have awoken. She has
brought an army of loyal beasts with her
including moaning mummies, fire-breathing
assassins, armour-plated minotaurs, and much
more. Complimenting the horde of enemies
players must keep an eye on the environment to
find creative ways to thwart enemies. Players
can decapitate the undead with spinning blades,
fry them to a crisp with fire traps, crush them
with a well-placed boulder and be sure to be
careful that don't set these fatal traps on your
team mates.
You certainly have to keep your eyes peeled
for suspicious clues, secret entrances and
ancient contraptions that need re-awakening.
Paying careful attention to your surroundings
can be quite valuable as alluring treasures and
buried riches await teammates working
together .
Gamers looking for a fresh new and fun
cooperative experience should keep their eyes
peeled for Strange Brigade. Launching August
28, 2018, Strange Brigade is set to shake up the
3rd person co-op shooter scene with loads of
firepower.
