Ever since the game was initially announced and showcased at GDC 2016, Earthfall has been on our most anticipated list. Supporting an action-packed co-operative first-person shooter experience, players join a ragtag bunch of survivors who band together to fight back against an alien invasion. Utilizing a wide variety of weapons and supplies, players must use team-based tactics and defenses while exploring the towns and wildernesses of the Pacific Northwest. With up to four players teaming up to survive the alien infestation, Earthfall comes with robust multiplayer support, in addition to sophisticated A.I. teammates who stand ready to ensure a full team at any time regardless of available players. Somewhat similar to that 'other' game which enables players to construct fortified structures to fend off the alien threat, Earthfall offers a rather different and unique 'Build Your Defenses' approach enabling players to strategically deploy barricades to block the enemy hordes and install turrets anywhere in the levels to the create the perfect alien killing zones. Impressively, Earthfall allows players to print their weapon of choice by using advanced 3D printers found within the game to print more than twenty different weapons to use against the vicious alien enemies. At launch Earthfall will offer multiple campaigns, each telling a story across several missions, allowing players to dive in and experience diverse settings and mission types across an authentic depiction of the Pacific Northwest. Adding to the game intense skirmishes, there are plenty close encounters of the brutal kind as deadly aliens come in all shapes and sizes, from massive waves of drone attacking to towering behemoths spitting plasma, making every experience different each time you play. This is also supported by unpredictable enemies and a dynamic spawn system. Even before learning about the games specific console support, Earthfall was already shaping up to be sure eye-pleaser, however developer Holospark sealed the deal when they announced that its upcoming co-operative shooter will support 4K resolution with HDR on PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X, as well as High Dynamic Range color (or HDR) on Xbox One S.
