While Multiverse Inc. will be releasing their
impressive VR experience, Seeking Dawn on
Oculus and HTC Vive on July 12, we were are
also excited to learn that Seeking Dawn is
launching for PlayStation VR later this year.
In this first-of-its-kind, full-length, VR title,
players will be able to dive into a rich single-
player story, or partner with up-to three others
to experience 20-hours in a single playthrough
of heart-pounding, adrenaline-inducing,
multiplayer battles in a sprawling Survival
setting. By partnering with friends or finding
teams through online match-ups, squads can
work together and develop advanced tactics to
flank and outmaneuver opponents to gain the
upperhand. A sophisticated AI will see enemies
adapt to every fighting style, ensuring that
combat is kept challenging and unexpected as
players must find new ways to survive deadly
encounters.
Set in the technologically advanced but war-
torn 23rd century, players take on the role of
James Weston on assignment as he investigates
the disappearance of an allied team on an alien
world where opposing military forces are
rumored to be active. With only the voice of his
ship’s testy captain in his earpiece to keep him
company, Weston will have to piece together
various clues about what transpired on this
planet, with his journey taking him from eerie
caverns to otherworldly forests and beyond, and
uncover deadly secrets that will turn the tide of
war.
Combining gritty combat and an intricate
crafting system, Seeking Dawn is an expansive
VR action-survival game set on a sprawling and
dangerous planet full of exotic flora and
bloodthirsty native creatures intent on ridding
their territory of intruders. If the planet trying to
scrub you from its surface wasn’t enough, you
must also defend yourself from an opposing,
dominant force in the ongoing intergalactic war.
Harvest what you can, build what you want, and
be quick on your feet - with deadly foes of all
shapes and sizes, you’d best be armed to the
teeth when you take them on.
As mentioned before players can venture out
alone or work with a team in the robust online
multiplayer mode to increase your chances of
survival within the games 20 hours of full-length,
console quality campaign content. Players will
be crafting an arsenal of weapons and
equipment, each with its own unique feel and
purpose. Construct and fortify your base to
protect yourself against ruthless invaders and
collect and listen to audio logs to unravel the
story of your missing allies. The campaign is
filled with a variety of enemy types, from blindly
aggressive Ferals to tactically-minded troopers.
Our early impression of Seeking Dawn is
extremely positive and we can't wait to tackle
this one, especially on PSVR. Concerning the
PSVR version of the game, while it has been
confirmed to be coming to Sony's peripheral,
developer Multiverse anticipates a release date
some time later this year, with a beta testing
expected to begin before its console launch.
